Congratulations to the UK Patent Office (UK IPO) in highlighting the problems and dangers of counterfeit toys. In the run-up to the Christmas rush, the UK IPO’s messaging is well-timed.

For children, fake toys can pose a real risk. Parents always want to keep their children safe. So, be wary – if an offer seems too good to be true, then it is probably a counterfeit. Fake toys aren’t just cheap, their dangerous.

For toy manufacturers and importers, IP rights are critical in providing Border Force and Trading Standards with effective tools to defend their commercial reputation. Registered Designs and Trade Marks can be especially useful.
