David has extensive experience in a wide range of IP matters. He has been named as Primary Representative in over 1,700 European Patent Applications.
David has worked for a diversity of clients from SMEs, start-ups, universities, and corporate clients in a multitude of technical fields.
His experience covers all aspects of preparation, filing, search and examination, as well as Oppositions and Appeals.
He has also supported clients and IP solicitors in many litigation matters, advising on patentability, infringement, validity, entitlement, licencing and conflict resolution.
David’s technical background is in electronics, having graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Physics & Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Optoelectronics. He also studied at Queen Mary College, University of London gaining a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.
As well as his professional IP qualifications, David is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
David has been recognised as a leading Patent practitioner in various publications. In the 2014 to 2022 editions of the MIP Handbook he was named an ‘IP Star’. He was also recommended in the 2014 and 2015 IAM Patent 1000 guides.

Victoria began her career in Intellectual Property over 20 years ago and has worked for three leading IP firms.
She has extensive experience in all IP functions and more specifically in the areas of Patents, formalities, renewals and Trade Marks.
While working in the IP field, Victoria graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2007 with a BA in Business and Management. Victoria is also dual-qualified as both a CIPA Paralegal and a CITMA Paralegal.
Victoria’s responsibilities include preparing and filing Patent Applications, reporting and monitoring deadlines, and preparing and handling formalities matters in diverse jurisdictions around the world. She sees the process through, from filing to grant. She also prepares and files transfers and changes to the national and regional registers.
Victoria liaises with clients, foreign agents and various Patent Offices as part of both the Patent prosecution process and the renewal process. In addition, Victoria ensures that any bespoke administrative arrangements requested by our clients are implemented and maintained.
